The first of the two Düden waterfalls can be found in a beautiful valley 14 kilometers northeast of Antalya. The fresh water falls from 15 meters in height down and refreshed the whole area. Thanks to a tuff cave, you can also behind the water wall. Try it, a look behind the scenes worthwhile.

This may be the beautiful coastal scenery from the water view. The boats make in beautiful bays, where you will swim, snorkel or dive. With a little luck you will meet on dolphins or large turtles. Experienced divers should not expect too much.
Antalya was already around 200 BC populated. The city was awarded in honor of its founder Attalus, the King of Pergamon 18, the name Attalia. Later it was the present name Antalya. Antalya developed with its port early to a major trading town and was also a strategically important point in wars and crusades.

Very interesting is also the historical part of Antalya. High on a cliff sits the old town Kaleici. From up there you have a wonderful view of the harbour and the sea. In addition, there is the symbol of Antalya - in the 13th Built-century Yivli Minaret. The Yivli Minaret is a more than 40 meters high, pointed zulaufender tower, which looks as it would consist of several very closely zusammenstehenden pillars. This year we had the first time our vacation during the holidays. Our daughter had the first weeks of school successfully brought and the autumn holiday stood at the door. The summer was this year the weather very well and we wasted no thought to where we spend holidays in the autumn. Aspendos can be reached with an asphalt seperated from Antalya – Manavgat road. Ancient amphitheatre. The city which is one of the richest cities is found on two hills , one big the other small , 8 km east of Serik where the Köprü brook coming from the mountains reaches the plains. The first name of the city as can be seen from the coins minted was Estwediya.According to Greek legend, the city was founded by Argive colonists who, under the leadership of the hero Mopsos, came to Pamphylia after the Trojan War. Aspendos was one of the first citie in the region to strike coinage under its own names. The most powerful money in the antique world was the Aspendos coin. In the Aspendos theater built in the 2nd century BC, in the lower floor of the two tiered facade built of regularly dressed blocks of conglomerate there are five doors through which the actors entered the stage. Small doors at orchestra level belong to the galleries where wild animals were kept. At the middle of the facade at the upper floor in a triangular shape pediment there is a relief of the wine god Dionysos who at the same time was the founder and patron of theaters. The theater with a capacity of 17.000 people is the best preserved standing amphitheater. The secret of the perfect acoustics created could not be revealed up todate. In the 13th century the Seljuks have used this building as a caravanserai and have strengthened the northern part of the building with an arch in typical Seljuk style. Aspendos theater which is at a distance of 38 km to Side can be reached via a 4 km long road after making a right turn on the Antalya-Alanya road after passing through Serik. The theater today is used for various concerts, carnivals, festivals and oil wrestling. Agora, Basilica, Nymphaeum and the arched waterways reaching up to 15 km. are other places worth to see in Aspendos. The Aspendos theater has been hosting the International Opera and Ballet Festival since 11 years. Aspendos Festival which has been chosen as the 5th best Opera festival attracts the attention of domestic and foreign tourists.

Arapidly growing city of over ½ million people. Antalya is the main administrative and commercial center for most of the Mediterranean coast. The city’s airport is an important gateway receiving charter flights year-round from Europe. Sprawling around a wide bay , with the Taurus mountains as a backdrop , the city enjoys a dramatic setting.
Kaleici , which means “Inside the Castle” is the historic heart of the city. Surrounded by the old city walls , its narrow streets are lined with Otoman timber-frame houses , many of which have been renovated or converted into hotels. The old harbour has been tastefully redeveloped and is surrounded by cafes , shops and restaurants. The buildings of this area enjoy official protection , so any renovation or building work is tightly controlled.
The Lara beach to the east and the Konyaalti beach to the west of the city are ideal for swimming. Besides these beaches, there are also two water parks in Antalya in which various water games are played.
Other interesting places in the outskirts of Antalya are the Upper and Lower Duden Falls, Kursunlu Falls, Saklikent, which is a winter sports center, Gulluk Mountain National Park, with its famous ancient city of Termessos and Karain Cave. Kemer, on the coast to the west of the city of Antalya, is among the most beautiful holiday centers in the Mediterranean. Phaselis at the south of Kemer is an historical port. The ancient city of Olympos and its ruins are worth to be seen too.
West of the center , Konyaalti is an up market residential area with a long pebble beach lined with cafes , bars and entertainment venues. The city’s other main beach is 12 km east of the center at Lara. There are several huge shopping malls and a massive market. Antalya’s property market is dominated by modern apartments with prices varying hugely according to location. A two-bedroom apartment cost from 40.000 euro in an inland district , rising to over 150.000 in a block near the sea-front in Lara or Konyaalti. For those in search of an ottoman house to restore , Kaleici ant the area of Hasim iscan out-side the city walls, are the places to look. But is difficult to find a bargain these day with prices from 150.000 euro for a renovated house..
Belek 30 km east of Antalya has become Turkey’s foremost golfing area , with six international Standard courses now in operation and more planned. Designated a tourism development area by the govemment a string of resort hotels dominate the coast , blocking Access to the excellent sandy beaches in some places.
Behind the wooded coastal strip villa developments have sprung-up on agricultural land. Golf aside facilities and shopping are very poor in the immediate area at present the area is a property hot-spot with over 35 new developments. Despite rapidly rising prices not all properties represent value for Money , so it is important to hop around and compare.
